The Fire Drill

*Fire bell rings*

The signal for the fire drill goes off. Declan paused, turned to me and said, "Sounded like a flight announcement."

Today our building management have arranged for a fire drill. In order to smoothly execute the drill, two unit wardens were elected before hand from each unit, in charge of checking the attendance and guiding us safely to the assembly area.

Mike: "Where are you going?"
Mary: "I left my candies."

...to follow me.

So our unit warden puts on his vest, and instructs everyone to gather around for a short brief regarding the drill. Drill is, unit warden will do an attendance check, lead us to stairs. Then unit wardens will make sure lights are off, doors and windows are locked, and no one is left behind.

"Ok team... heres the plan:
Evacuate."

"Nurafidah... Suzana... Me..."

"Wait for me. I am your unit warden too."

After an attendance check, we proceed to the stairs. Slowly. Except for Mary. She's was psyched.

So down the stairs we go, towards the assembly area, greeted by the rest of the block. First to arrive was Mr. Mike. Casually awaiting the rest of the crew to gather around for the second round of attendance check. Clearly he deserves a medal.

First!

The fire drill was a success. Although I believe there are some room for improvements, in terms of the time taken to gather and move down together as a unit. Practice makes perfect.

Time to head back to our units. Back to work.
